I am a professional artist living in Portobello, Edinburgh. Born in 1974, graduating in 1997 then working in a variety of occupations, I am only now able to devote my energy to art full time.

I am constantly inspired by the landscape and environment around me, Scotland offers a rich abundance of it. From local places and coastal towns and villages to the countryside, hills and glens, there is always somewhere and something to get my creativity flowing.

Drawing on my experience doing a Printmaking Degree at Duncan of Jordanstone, I love combining bold graphic elements of a scene with closely observed details of a particular object, building or vehicle found there. The result can be a unique pictorial juxtaposition that evokes a vibrant sense of place and a new way to see it.

I am also drawn again and again to the Old Master painters. Studying their techniques and learning their methods I aspire to recreate some of their greatest artworks. To date I have done commissions including Rembrandt, Monet, Van Dyke, Landseer and Raeburn.

I hope you enjoy my work. Some of the paintings are available to purchase or if you’d like to commission me please get in touch.
